Are you a Software Developer, looking for an energetic and mission-driven work environment? Do you want to play a role in speeding up the energy-transition? Then this opportunity might be just right for you!

About Sungevity

Our mission is simple but important: covering all roofs with solar panels to boost the energy transition. To spark this rooftop revolution, we are dedicated to making solar energy easy, affordable and fun. To accelerate our mission, we are looking for new solar warriors to join our passionate and international team.

Our 150 committed employees work hard to make our mission reality. We do this from our laid-back office in the north of Amsterdam or flexible from home. Together with our partners, installers and customers, we are building a new generation: Generation Sun. Curious to get to know our organization and culture? Have a look at our job page!

Our Technology & Innovation department

The Technology & Innovation team has great humour (really we do). We support each other, and we love to learn from each other. We like to hang out together: we go for drinks or do other fun activities.

We have 3 roles in our department:

  1. IT Helpdesk Technician
  2. Full Stack Developers
  3. Business Analysts

Our department has 9 members, consisting of 4 nationalities! We work in an agile way, aiming to keep the time between designing a solution and having it online as short as possible. We prefer simple over complicated solutions. The Technology & Innovation department is self-organizing, and we expect you to actively participate in improving the team and our way of working. The department is active in all parts of our business, from sales to installations, from customer portals to solar-system performance monitoring. You will be supported by, and reporting to the Head of Technology & Innovation in this role. Here's a few of the systems our team is currently responsible for:

  • Customer facing websites and portals (in both Belgium and the Netherlands);
  • Sales & Installation process support systems;
  • Solar System monitoring;
  • Reporting and alerting on our customer’s Solar System performance;
  • And many more!

We are currently running a large project to replace our CRM and other services (such as invoice and planning) with a more integrated and streamlined architecture led by Odoo (ERP/CRM). Also, we continue expanding our Solar System monitoring platform. The platform is set up with separate frontends connected to a microservice backend running on AWS Lambda’s (serverless) combined with AppSync for GraphQL endpoints. We use Typescript for the backend and Javascript in the frontend. For our frontends we use VueJS v2 and v3.

We are looking for a Medior Full Stack Developer who can help the team to further expand and optimize our stack.

Do (most of the) following points sound like you? Then this might be the opportunity you’re looking for!

  • You are a Software Developer that likes diving into matters;
  • Experience with Python;
  • You have worked with the Odoo framework (ORM, Workflows, etc.) or a similar ERP;
  • Experience with Javascript and (PostgreSQL) databases is a plus;
  • A CI-advocate and you like to work DevOps style;
  • You have worked on setting up new systems before, containing multiple connected services, API’s and authentication;
  • You are a proactive team player and you can handle a lot of responsibilities;
  • You want to 'get the job done' in the least complex way possible;
  • Fluent in English;
  • You have a valid permit to work in the Netherlands.

What's in it for you?

  • A dynamic job in an mission-driven company where you can make a real impact;
  • A versatile, independent and challenging role;
  • A salary between €3500-4600 (depending on experience & fit);
  • An informal working environment where you get a lot of space to organize your job the way it fits you;
  • Secondary employment conditions such as travel allowance and 25 vacation days;
  • A pension scheme = fun in your old age;
  • The flexibility to work (partly) from home or from our (cheerful) office in Amsterdam North;
  • Various learning tracks, for which we work together with Lepaya;
  • Unlimited and anonymous access to e-health platform ‘OpenUp’ that provides access to webinars, self-help programs, health checks and professional psychologists. At Sungevity, we care about your wellbeing, both at work and privately;
  • Monthly drinks & 4x a year a company event;
  • An entrepreneurial sustainable environment where you get the freedom to put your own ideas into practice;
  • Learning everything about solar energy and other technologies within the energy transition: the future is now!

The diversity of backgrounds, cultures and perspectives within Sungevity is essential to achieve our mission. Our challenges are unique, we need as many different voices as possible to solve them together - voices like your own. So wherever you come from, who you love or what you believe in, you are welcome to be you at Sungevity. So feel free to omit this from your resume, if you want to!

Studies show that women and people from underrepresented groups only apply for jobs if they meet 100% of the qualifications. Do you recognize yourself in this? Then we want to encourage you; When in doubt, just apply! Together we will find out if there is a match

Do you have questions? Feel free to contact the hiring manager Martijn Bakker (Head of Technology & Innovation) at martijn.bakker@sungevity-intl.com

Excited? Then hit the apply button! We have a look through applications as they come in.

You can also send your application in Dutch.
