Internship Training & Development

SUPPORT | 'S-HEERENBERG, NEDERLAND

Within our Mainfreight culture, we find it important to train and develop our interns. As an intern you are part of the team, where you are given responsibilities and plenty of opportunities to develop yourself.

As our intern, you will support all European Mainfreight 48 branches. This is an exciting opportunity to join a close knit team, gain exposure across the business, and support Mainfreight Europe to take our culture, quality, safety and team members to the next level. If passion is what drives you, we want to hear from you. Ready for the ride of your life?

Your role

This is a broad role with numerous responsibilities including (but not limited to!!):

  • Preparing training material and ensure every training runs smoothly (for example, preparing the room, the handouts)
  • Help turn business goals into action in a variety of projects around: safety, leadership, people development…
  • Help with Health & Safety reports
  • Improving our Learning Management System (no previous knowledge required)
  • Sharing vacancies around the business to help our team members achieve their dream position

You enjoy building strong relationships with people all around the business. Being part of the Training & Development team, you will wear many hats and flexibility to do so is crucial to your success. You must be proactive and willing to also help the team when needed. You will also have the possibility of spending some time in the business to experience the processes first-hand.

Who are we looking for?

  • Teamwork: Your team is your family, you are respected by others, and enjoy a close knit team.
  • Open minded: You give anything a go, and you’re always looking for a better way to do things.
  • Desire to learn: It is essential that you have a desire to learn. You always think about the why.
  • Change maker: You make things happen!
  • Work at pace: You’re not one to wait to be told what to do, you’re already out there doing it.
  • Integrity: You’re able to be trusted with sensitive information and to work autonomously when needed.

You have high standards and you stick to them meaning you only ever walk past what you accept. You understand business drivers and how the business needs to be supported in a practical and hands on way.

In addition to the above:

  • You are a clear, proactive communicator and your written and spoken communication is effective in English. Any other language is definitely welcome
  • This role is full time and you might be able to travel to other branches in Europe when needed
  • This job demands flexibility, it is not a 9:00 to 17:00 job, there will be days where you’d need to stay longer/come earlier and then other days you’d be able to come in later
  • This is a great first step into our business. The journey doesn’t need to end with your internship.

What we offer you

  • A challenging internship in which your personal development is key
  • Committed team who value your development
  • A ‘family’ culture in a stimulating environment
  • Internship and travel compensation

Things you don’t have to do

  • Get bored, every day is different not one day is the same
  • Only grab coffee, we like to move too
  • Watch the clock to see if it’s 5:00 pm already - time flies when you're having fun
