Internship Data Catalog Consultant

Schiphol has set forth the ambition to become a data driven organization. The Central Data Platform (data lake), developed by the Data and Analytics Departments, has a central/big role in this ambition. For unlocking the data value of the Central Data Platform, an Enterprise Data Catalog will be put in place. This Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) will be the one-stop shop to answer all data related questions, such as; Who is the owner of the Data? What is the meaning of this data? What is the quality of this data? Where does this data come from? And many more.

In this assignment, you will be responsible to curate the data in the EDC, implying you will give meaning to the data. Some of this meaning is already known and has to be migrated. For other context, you will have to connect with different data stewards, data leads and the business. This context will significantly enhance the trustworthiness and thus the value of our data.

Since the Enterprise Data Catalog is quite new, we need to develop and give training to its users. Constructing these training materials and provide trainings will be a part of your assignment. Furthermore, you will be challenged to give your input which can help improve and develop the functionalities of the EDC. Lastly, you would work closely with the Product Owner and assist him with your knowledge and challenge him on the product roadmap and vision.

• Ability to convey information to various audiences, e.g. during a training
• Some experience with data analytics / data management
• Ability to inform, interpret, assess, and deliver thorough analysis in both written and verbal form.
