Marketing Internship

About us

The idea of BikeFair arose from our own need to buy a cheap (yet usable) bike for everyday use in the Netherlands. That felt like an extremely annoying thing to do with the then-available tools. We are also fed up by the number of bikes we and our friends have already lost to theft, and we realized there is a way out of this: we can cut the demand for stolen bikes by creating a nice and easy-to-use alternative.

Thus, designed to prevent trading stolen bikes, BikeFair offers an easy and fun to use, yet still affordable service alternative to the shady dude trying to sell you an obviously stolen bike on the corner at midnight.

We are also aiming to help theft victims find their bikes back and together with our partner Bike Index are building a global bike database connected to police, insurance companies, bike stores etc.

Comfort and peace of mind on every bike journey. That’s what we work for.

Who are we looking for

BikeFair provides a dynamic, ambitious environment that is not suited for everyone. If you're looking for an easy time of making coffee, we might not be the right place. We look for high-achievers who want to learn and be the best in what they do. Driven, self-sustainable, mature leaders able to work individually in an organised way and come up with new initiatives and ideas on their own.

Generally, we are looking for:

⦁ The ‘McGyver mindset’ – what can YOU do with only a paperclip?

⦁ Inner motivation of Nikola Tesla – let's work on something that has a meaning!

⦁ Discipline of Captain America,

⦁ Unhealthy affection for bikes – owning three or more bikes is a must!

⦁ Slightly twisted sense of humour. (The line above is a joke, of course. Partly.)

You should be fluent in Dutch and have a working proficiency in English.

For this specific role, you should also be an outgoing person, a good communicator able to turn any challenge into an opportunity. We'll teach you the rest.

Responsibilities

During the internship, we will show you the full (supply-side) B2B sales process of an up-and-coming bike marketplace:

⦁ Market research

⦁ Creating content (eg. blogs, landing pages)

⦁ Create content and implement ideas to improve SEO scores

⦁ Assisting our CMO with marketing campaigns

⦁ Working with our performance media ads (eg. Facebook, Google ads)

⦁ Upkeep of the social media content calendar

⦁ Providing feedback to the product development team to further adjust the marketplace

You will get a chance to experience all of the steps yourself with a focus on the simpler tasks, and depending on your learning trajectory, you can work yourself into a full-time role.

Why should you consider

We nurture a "work hard, play hard" culture. So the least you'll get is:

⦁ Competitive internship allowance

⦁ Fun activities with the team: Trips, dinners, bike rides, VrijMiBos & team trips

⦁ Own (stand-up) work desk in the buzzing start-up office "ScaleHub"

⦁ Great location, artisanal coffee & enthusiastic colleagues

⦁ Ownership of your work, you'll do a lot more than getting coffee

⦁ Potential to join our growing start-up after the internship

⦁ And, of course, a bike for personal use :)

Conditions & Details

Starting date is flexible. The internship is 4 days per week for 6 months, conditions can be discussed.

BikeFair is an online platform enabling every single person on the planet to trade, own and love a bicycle by removing all physical, psychological, informational, and financial barriers. By creating a platform of trust, digitizing the industry, and providing tangible support for the community and all industry players we are making cycling the most accessible way of transportation and a healthy and fun hobby.
