ABOUT THE JOB :

As a Java developer, you will develop the software for our customer facing websites, web APIs, back- office services and support web optimisation for the cloud-based development. You will be developing against a product backlog of web team and support all essential CI/CD activities to deploy and release the software.

Your will be part of the web development in Java/ J2EE technologies including web APIs and other service & framework enhancements, integrating with supplier systems, maintaining the CI processes, managing web hosting infrastructure and enabling the design team to achieve their goals. As an experienced developer, you will take an active part in analysing each backlog item and the definition of tasks. You will also peer review code ensuring it meets against coding standards and make suggestions for architectural improvements. You will be working closely with our Architects, Tech leads, developers, QA engineers, Product Owners and BAs.

ABOUT YOU:

• Very good knowledge of Java from version 11 and relevant frameworks/concepts such as Spring Boot, RESTful Services; experience in designing microservices an advantage
• Experience in Java software development with Git, IntelliJ, Maven, Docker, Gitlab, CI/CD, Kubernetes
• Experience of system integration technologies, e.g., messaging and web services
• You should be an expert in Java and be able to write, moderate and coach high quality Java software development
• Strong experience of Spring (2.5 or above)
• Experience of ORM frameworks, e.g., Hibernate, JPA
• Experience of RDBMS, e.g. Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server
• Experience and strong understanding of Agile frameworks Scrum, Kanban, XP, SAFe
• Working knowledge of AWS
• Good understanding of modern design and architectural principles and approaches
• Have configuration management experience—hands on with Puppet, Chef or other cloud-based provisioning tools
• Understanding of Performance, security requirements and the approaches to ensure they are addressed in Solution Designs.
• Collaborated on large scale, multi-project technical solutions throughout the entire development lifecycle from inception to operation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at a senior level
• You are a proactive and communicative team player with a critical, yet result-oriented and positive attitude
• BSc/BA degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline or related experience.
