The design-cycle of an on-chip RF transformer is normally time-consuming as it requires multiple iterations of (manual) layout adjustments and EM-simulations. By using the optimizer within the Keysight ADS software in combination with ADS’s Momentum EM-simulator, this process can be enhanced. For this purpose a macro is required that you will build. This macro should adjust the RF transformer’s layout as function of its design parameters, such as the number of windings and inner diameter. This macro will preferably be implemented in ADS’s AEL programming language and should be tested within the design environment.
The duration of this internship is at least 3 months.
