Job Summary

“This concerns a new position for the new multi-technology campus in Papendrecht. A new campus is being built there, bringing together Aero Structures, Landing gears and Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems technologies in one location. Globally, GKN Aerospace's largest site with a total of almost 2,000 employees. This also means a concentration of training and career opportunities for employees which are crucial for GKN Aerospace. As Campus Academy Manager, you can lead the training and development of the operational workforce. You are the linking pin between desired competences and skills and the available labor potential. You can help fill in this delta with a team of internal and external trainers so that everyone is and remains fit for the job.”

Key accountabilities

  • Drive and stimulate a learning culture across Europe through developing and implementing a Learning and Development Strategy encapsulating the new age of practical learning.
  • Leading the Learning Academy in the development of state of the art delivery of training curricula.
  • Develop and grow a network of internal partners as well as external stakeholders to develop, manage and grow a learning ecosystem.
  • Ensure that national, regional and local subsidies are developed and used to its full potential and that partnerships succeed.
  • Ensure the influx of new students and graduates by developing, growing, and leveraging a unique ecosystem of partners that comes together to align and integrate school facilities with GKN workstations and equipment.
  • Create one competence center supporting the various technologies:
  • Sharing resources, knowledge, funding, and apply educational best practices, standard training curriculum, network support, governance etc.
  • With specific training centers to support the various technology specific work stations and necessary competence and skill sets
  • Provide ‘long life learning’ development training curriculum.
  • Manage execution of training activities within time, quality and the right cost level.
  • Manage the generic onboarding training as well generic local training sessions for everyone at the location.
  • Manage budget of the Campus Academy.

Job Qualifications

  • Master degree technical education and / or HR / Learning & Development qualification (or similar qualifications/significant experience in this area).
  • Knowledge and experience in a high-quality metalworking environment and/or a high-quality production environment.
  • Experience in designing learning curriculum and programmes to meet the varying different needs of the organisation.
  • Able to bring the latest thinking about learning and development to the agenda.
  • Able to see the big picture across operations and the external ecosystem (schools, external partners and bodies, subsidies), and agree on a vision / plans, and turn plans into operational and practical reality.
  • Able to manage output in a complex matrix structure. As well from project management as stakeholder management perspective.
  • Experience in operations and skill development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Able to act as ambassador of GKN towards external partners.
  • Succession in talent management, coaching and people management.
