StuDocu was founded on the principle that equal access to study notes reduces inequality between students. Today, we make it easy for 25+ million students to share notes and answer study-related questions. The product was a rocket ship from day one, and has shown strong product-market fit on every continent, making us a key player in the exploding EdTech space. We just received a $50 million Series B investment so we’re in a rapid 100% YoY growth and scale mode, and we need serious talent to help us make it happen.

Our healthy economic model has allowed us to grow our team significantly over the past year, and now we are looking for an experienced DevOps/Sysadmin in our Platforms pillar. You will work closely with the product and engineering teams to support their technical needs whilst maintaining a secure, highly available, and efficient infrastructure setup.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Find solutions to technical issues at all levels, whether through processes, technologies, or infrastructure.
  • Reduce technical friction for developers to reach high-quality implementations of business features.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting infrastructural and performance issues.
  • Helping keep our infrastructure leading edge.

Why you'll love it here:

  • There is a lot of freedom to decide how you get things done.
  • You will immediately help decide on conventions and the roadmap of the team.
  • The workload is diverse, touching on many different infrastructural subjects and technologies.

What our process looks like:

  • First, there is a short introductory call with our recruiter to get to know you better.
  • Then, a second call with StuDocu's CTO to touch base and tell you more about the future of our Tech teams and products.
  • If that goes well, you will receive a coding assignment followed by a technical interview with your future team leader as a last step of the recruitment process.

Job requirements

  • 3+ yrs of experience with Docker, AWS, and Linux-based systems. No fear of the nitty-gritty, low-level systems work.
  • Experience setting up (from scratch) at least 1 production-facing environment using AWS serving at least 50k users/day.
  • 3+ years of experience with terraform or other infrastructure as code tools.
  • 2+ years of experience with building servers and other CI/CD tooling.
  • At least a BSC in computer science.
  • You’re an excellent communicator - able to discuss infrastructural concepts confidently at all levels in English.

We're based in a bright office in the center of Amsterdam with the canals, restaurants, and cafes right around the corner. Everyday we have lunch together (it’s amazing) and once a week we’ll crack open a few beers, chill in the garden, or grab our boat for a round in the beautiful canals of Amsterdam.

Not to mention, it’s pretty cool that everyday we can go to work knowing that we are striving to make a difference in the lives of students everywhere!
