MISSION TO METRICS

The mission of The Ocean Cleanup is to develop and scale technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. The Catch Management team is responsible for what happens with the plastic and other waste after we have extracted it from oceans and rivers. We aim to ensure that extracted waste does not return to the natural environment, and is given a proper end-of-life treatment. This includes waste management, recycling, and valorization of river waste.

Across our portfolio of Rivers projects, we have identified similar valorization opportunities. In this internship, you will support the Sorting & Recycling manager by building knowledge, evaluating opportunities, and proposing implementation plans for various valorization options.

“Realizing the full potential of the waste's value is integral to understanding how we can best create effective business models that support sustainable waste management solutions.” - Ben Mallett, Sorting and Recycling Manager
