Director, Data Enablement

The Customer Advocacy (CA) organization within Expedia Group (EG) is the customer conscience within EG Marketplace. We keep traveler needs at the center of our work and help build a traveler-responsive culture through understanding and addressing traveler's greatest struggles with our websites, apps, call centers, and partners. ​

With a focus on end-to-end journeys and a deep understanding of critical experiences, we prioritize and channel opportunities for repair and improvement across EG to drive an improved Quality of Experience.

The Data Enablement team within Customer Advocacy is responsible for the business intelligence as it relates to the traveler experience. This team monitors and reports on the end-to-end journey health through automation, clear data reporting and leverages AI/ML capabilities through partnerships with advanced analytics teams, unearthing key opportunities for an improved traveler experience.

Reporting to the Vice President, Customer Advocacy, the Director of Data Enablement is a leadership role within the team. In this role, you will manage a team of business intelligence analysts and be a member of the leadership team focused to improve the overall quality of experience for the traveler. You will be working with one of the world's largest travel data environments and will have a chance to define data solutions and influence key strategic decisions.

What you’ll do:

  • You are a specialist in problem solving complex questions and challenges, with strong understanding of advanced statistics, machine learning and analytical methods, and show case our analytical mastery externally
  • Direct a team that applies a range of common statistical methods to business problems determining the ideal method for the problem considering underlying assumptions
  • Create and leverage strong partnerships to deliver results while minimizing redundancies and overlaps of work
  • Mentor and train others on all topics across analytical problem solving, project management and influencing for business impact
  • Promote a “one-team” mentality that encourages ownership and collaboration around technical and traveler problems irrespective of organizational boundaries
  • Set strategic direction for evolving and improving team processes, showing judgment and flexibility in tailoring that process to the team's work, and exhibits decisiveness in planning, execution, and process evolution
  • You will work closely with and partner with our colleagues across Data Science, Research, Finance and Product
  • Build systems that attract and encourage talent to grow in the organization and develop successors for your own position

Who you are:

  • An influential people leader who leads and coaches a complementary team of analysts across multiple levels
  • Bachelor's, Master’s, PhD or Experience in Mathematics, Science, Statistics degree, or equivalent related professional experience
  • A strong advocate and practitioner in creating a diverse and effective workforce
