About this role

As our Contract Specialist you are responsible for reviewing agreements and negotiating contract terms, managing business deals and ensure that the contracts adhere to the company guidelines and applicable laws. You provide contract and legal guidance to the business and addresses any concerns and inquiries the customers may have. On international contracts, this role will require interfacing with Sales, Customer Support, Business Development, Accounting teams in other countries and you will act as a resource to others in the Legal Department supporting the Legal Software products.

Key responsibilities

  • Review and analyze RFPs, customer contracts and other contractual documents
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions within a defined framework and in compliance with group policies
  • Serve as initial point of contact for the business and Legal team
  • Maintain and update contract documentation; create language standards for contract
  • Educate and advise Sales teams on legal requirements and contract documentation in compliance with WK strategies and policies
  • Manage contracts management system and process
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize own daily work routine to meet established schedule with guidance from manager
  • Track, coordinate and document approval and signature process for all contract documents, including the distribution of fully executed contracts to external customers and internal departments for servicing

Your profile

  • Legal Degree (Bachelor of Law, Master of Law) or equivalent experience, including 3+ years of contract negotiation experience
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and contract management software.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent in both English and Dutch (verbal and written skills)
  • Being familiar and comfortable with legal requirements involved with contracts and contract law and regulation (Dutch law, UK Law a plus)
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across business units and build strong relationships across countries with your stakeholders
  • Understands key business drivers and builds knowledge of the company, processes and customers
  • Possesses superior attention to detail in order to spot inconsistencies in contracts
  • Analytical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a driven environment and meet deadlines
  • Must exercise discretion and sound judgment and be capable of handling sensitive materials and maintaining confidentiality
  • Capable to work productively independently and as part of a team and in international environments

Nice to haves

  • Familiarity with software and technology products and industries, including SaaS and on-premise offerings
  • Proven work experience in a contract negotiation and administration role, reviewing and redlining contracts, preferably in corporate legal departments
