Future Approvals Engineer

Airbus HAPS Connectivity Solutions Limited is looking for an Approvals Engineer based in Farnborough.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer you will support the delivery of Airworthiness and flight regulatory approval for the Zephyr Haps Platform. To liaise with regulatory bodies such as EASA, FAA, CASA FCC to ensure delivery of Approvals in time for flight testing.

Tasks and Accountabilities

• To deliver in conjunction with the programme requirements and project managers the appropriate airspace clearances, regulatory approvals and location permissions.
• To engage with Airbus Defence & Space UAS Regulation & Certification Working Group on RPAS development.
• To liaise with international and national aerospace regulators in the development and influence of RPAS regulations.
• To liaise with international and national frequency regulators in the granting of approvals and the development and influence of RPAS regulations.

Required skills and experience

Essential:

• Experience of working with international aviation regulators and Air National Service Providers.
• Experience of and qualified to supervise, manage and deliver globally deployed aviation capability.
• Experienced team leader.
• Experience with Aviation Certification
• Experienced Engineer or Aircrew with working knowledge of Airworthiness and flight operation regulations.

Desirable:

• Qualified aircrew/air traffic management specialist.
• Completed UK MAA Flying Supervisors Course.
• Flight Deployments

Individuals must be willing to travel to support the regulators meetings.

The opportunity may be given to train as Remote pilot crew to support flight test campaigns. Individuals will be asked to support the flight test campaigns with up to 8 weeks deployment for each flight test.
