Job Description:

We are now looking for a Supply Chain Quality Manager (SCQM) to join Airbus Defence and Space in our Portsmouth office. You will join our EEE/PCB Supply Chain Quality Management Team and report to our Head Of Supply Chain Quality Management.

As an EEE/PCB SCQM, you will be the primary quality interface with the nominated suppliers and responsible for the supply chain and quality aspects of the relationship between the supplier and Airbus Defence and Space, accountable for the delivery and quality performance of the supplier.

As this team focuses on secret projects, you will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance.

Tasks & Accountabilities

  • Presence on supplier’s site - to build open and trustful relationships with their employees and management
  • Acquiring knowledge of supplier - leading to effective control and improvement
  • Identifying risks and proposing/agreeing and ensuring implementation of mitigating actions
  • Management of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) during procurement (root cause analysis, preventive & corrective action plan) and post-procurement
  • Chair supplier engagement meetings with the supplier’s management team to ensure increased industrial maturity and improved performance
  • Provide support to all aspects of the Supply Chain process for EEE/PCB
  • Performing/participating in audits and assessments and following up on the resulting action plan
  • Chairing of supplier Non-conformance Review Boards (NRBs)

This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Degree in Engineering, Business Management or equivalent
  • Significant commercial experience and knowledge of Procurement, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing
  • Knowledge about EEE-parts and associated manufacturing technologies
  • Ability to anticipate, assess and mitigate risks
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills including active listening and empathy
  • Excellent skills in relationship building, team building, empowering, motivating others and conflict management
  • Background in Aerospace industry, preferably Space industry
  • Preferably experience in auditing and assessment methodologies
  • Procurement IT tool knowledge would be a benefit
