Job Description:

We are looking for a Computer Integration and test engineer to join Airbus Defence and Space at our Portsmouth or Stevenage office. You will join our Scientific Computing team and report to our Head of Scientific Computing.

You will be joining a well-established and welcoming team. Involved in complex projects with satellite space exploration activities, helping to drive changes and supporting engineering activities.

This role will suit someone with computer science knowledge and we are considering a wide range of backgrounds with an analytical and software aptitude!

You will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance.

Tasks & Accountabilities

  • Develop, design, and create specifications and parameters that are in compliance with products’ architectural blueprints
  • Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle, from the analysis, design over test, and integration to the operation of products
  • Supervise and support the operation and enhancements of Scientific Computing Solutions
  • Research, evaluate, and develop new tools to improve product development efficiency
  • Provide your expertise concerning the fulfilment of customer needs

This role will involve occasional travel for business to Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering domain, or equivalent level of information management specific qualifications
  • Experience with Simulation Lifecycle Management
  • Experience within a similar role in computer science
  • Experience in MATLAB and LINUX OS or similar software
  • An understanding of software principles and development
