We are looking for a talented and dedicated IT Architect to join the newly formed Flight technology organisation which provides flights & rental cars offers to our TUI production lines.

The IT architect is responsible for formulating the technical definitions of as well as creating the architecture for new IT services. You control and coordinate the general architecture issues and processes within the overall organisation. Your role also ensures that the systems to be implemented meet and support general standards, and in so doing improves the necessary operational processes. With your blueprint and concept you define the architectural framework and design guidelines and ensure that infrastructure and software remain understandable. To develop an optimal strategy, the IT Architect role must also understand and support the business structures of the company. By designing and implementing new architectural concepts and strategies, you also actively participate in (digital) transformation processes.

About The Job

  • Take responsibility for the general system landscape and develop architecture recommendations for problems from individual domains;
  • Support and advise in the creation of architectural concepts for application systems and software infrastructure;
  • Take responsibility for the basic technical concept for connecting external systems or the integration between different systems;
  • Shape IT strategy, business processes, architecture, solution and database design, data integration and performance management and development of scalability of tourist applications;
  • Manage and document overarching technical system requirements; perform process and business analysis, advise senior management on the agile transformation process, formulate recommendations for action, delegate tasks for implementing change measures in the role of a driver of these changes;
  • Define and document the internal, technical system structure (implementation view);
  • Further develop software development methods and participate in communities of practice;
  • Identify and evaluate technological developments in terms of their relevance and their impact on architecture;
  • Lead and collaborate in IT projects to optimise the touristic production/sales processes through systemic solutions in cooperation with the departments involved;
  • Track market changes (best practice) and implement in future strategies;
  • Support the various development teams in the implementation of the requirements for software development in terms of coaching.

About You

  • Degree in computer science, comparable technical degree or comparable IT knowledge and experience acquired on-the-job;
  • Professional experience in the architectural environment and/or in consulting;
  • Project management experience in major projects, e.g. as lead architect or project manager;
  • Experience with J2EE, EJB, XML, web services, databases, SOA, ESB, portals, EAI, BPM and architectures are desireable;
  • Strongly developed ability for self-organization and problem-solving;
  • Assured manner combined with good negotiation competence with external and internal partners;
  • English language skills;
