The successful candidate will join the EMEA Teat Team and be involved with both BAU testing activities and the ongoing projects. You will be expected to build strong working relationships with the test team and key stakeholders, using business requirements and project Brief / PID to agree level of testing required to ensure the product is fit for purpose.

The Role:

  • Defect Tracking Tools - use of defect tracking tools to manage defect tracking and interpret defect trends
  • Definition of a suitable test approach and taking overall accountability for phases of automated and functional testing
  • Creation of high level test deliverables e.g. testing elements of project plan, test strategy and test scope
  • Rigorous application of proven test methodologies
  • Production and approval of all testing deliverables and achievement of testing milestones
  • Management of risks associated with the defined testing scope
  • Utilisation of knowledge and experience to assess and advice on best practice
  • Identification of improvements and alternatives to processes, and assistance in their implementation
  • Sharing of technical knowledge and expertise in current and emerging processes and technologies
  • Planning and scripting for each software component to demonstrate the business condition under test and anticipated results
  • Execute test scripts, recording results to ensure that requirements have been met, working with Project Managers and developers to resolve issues
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the schedule and quality requirements
  • Provide ad hoc testing which can include Support reported issues, Faults, Hot Fixes and Microsoft critical Patches
  • Provide estimates to the Test Lead for project scheduling
  • Responsible for ensuring testing methods, process and plans will provide enough quality assurance
  • Production of test cases and test scripts from project requirements and use cases
  • Review of test procedures and test cases designed by fellow Test Analysts
  • Automated Testing - have an awareness of opportunities and limitations of tools to compliment

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree educated in a technical subject or sufficient technical/ operational experience to compensate
  • Creative and adaptive thinking
  • Experience of working with HP ALM quality management system or similar
  • A passion for solving technically challenging problems
  • Thorough experience and understanding of structured test methods and processes
  • Strong technical integration competency with the ability to visualise the big picture
  • Technical prowess to validate and prioritise technical solutions provided by the team
  • Experience of managing multiple automated tests ideally across multiple technologies
  • Strong traditional consulting skills (communication, negotiation, analysis, responding to time pressure and scope control, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of automated testing methodologies against a variety of technologies
