What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing managerial analysis and a level of independent challenge to the organisation with respect to project performance
  • Operating a project control system to define progress and identify programme performance issues
  • Creating and maintaining project schedules
  • Driving ownership of the work scope tasks throughout the project team
  • Managing scope change for the project
  • Applying Earned Value Management techniques (EVM)
  • Providing analysis and reports to enable key decisions to be made effectively
  • Show a willingness to take on leadership responsibilities within the team

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Experience applying Earned Value Management techniques
  • Demonstrable experience of risk, opportunity and change management
  • Good analytical and reporting skills to enable key decisions to be made effectively

Desirable

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team with previous management experience
  • Experience gained within a similar role working on complex projects

The Project Controls team:

Project Controls team provide essential support to the programmes and stakeholders on risk, baseline change management, earned value management (EVM), cost and forecasting. Project Controls is at the Heart of what we do so you will provide a critical service to the business and programmes.

The service integrates with many areas of project management and planning, whilst also working closely with stakeholders in specific functions such as engineering, supply chain and operations. Within this team, you will be working closely with project managers and planners to ensure that Submarines are built on time and to budget.

Being part of this team, will give you a fantastic perspective of the wider business, and engaging with a broad range of senior stakeholders will create fantastic career opportunities. Support towards professional qualifications with the APM up to Chartered Status is provided.
