Events & Webinars Manager (Maternity cover for 9 months)

The purpose of the Events & Webinars Manager role is to ensure that Elsevier is properly represented to its audiences, internal stakeholders, the wider industry and others by supporting the Director of Events & Webinars in helping to maintain and deliver a programme of face-to-face events, virtual conferences and webinars as part of the Research Marketing online and offline event portfolio and ensuring proper presence at appropriate sponsored and co-organised third party events and webinars. The role will work closely with marketing, sales, digital, regional and other key stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of events, virtual conferences and webinars globally.

Your responsibilities

  • In alignment with Marketing, Sales, Regional and other stakeholders to support RM in-person events, virtual conferences and webinars designed to contribute to marketing objectives and targets.
  • Helping to plan, create and manage webinars for Research; Marketing, including developing and implementing webinar guidelines, best practices, providing support and assistance to internal stakeholders;
  • Support in planning, management and execution of other events projects (both online and offline);
  • Working with other teams in Research Marketing squads on the outline, creation, and execution of events and webinar campaigns including emails and social media;
  • Providing support for promotion of webinars;
  • Support with all logistical arrangements for all in-person events as required, providing advice to the internal client, ensuring venue arrangements, sponsorship, collateral, audio visual and shipping arrangements are in place and that these arrangements are appropriate to the content of the event and the composition of the audience;
  • Project manage virtual conferencing and webinars as required - including working with third party virtual conferencing and webinar vendors to deliver projects and see through to live stream.

What you should bring

  • Bachelors Degree (preferably in Marketing, Communication, English) with 5+ years of B2B event management experience;
  • Experience in managing webinars and online events (experience with BrightTALK preferred but not mandatory);
  • An extremely self-motivated individual who is able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team structure;
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, confident and accurate manner;
  • The ability to interact with all organisational levels, both internal and externally;
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills;
  • A strong business acumen, and ability to provide a high-class customer service experience;
  • A creative and innovative thinker;
  • The ability to problem-solve and stay calm under pressure;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Strong organisational and time management skills;
  • The ability to multi task across multiple projects at any one time;
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% (and attend evening and weekend events as and when needed);
  • Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills required.
