Job description

Are you passionate about renewable energy? Looking for a result-driven role within a purpose-driven, international company? Are you a go-getter, relationship builder and curious? Then you could be our new Project Manager!

We are Solarplaza

Our mission is to make solar and renewable energy more accessible throughout the world! We offer knowledge, consultancy, education and networking solutions for the renewable energy industry in both established and emerging markets across the globe. With 35+ young, ambitious, and highly-educated people from 15 different countries, we work to accelerate the energy transition from our Rotterdam office.

Your role and mission

  • You will be a spill in the global energy transition, by defining, planning and executing high-quality events in the Solar industry;
  • You prepare a business case and manage the budget, quality and targets all based on your expertise and research;
  • You define the look and feel of the event: the speakers and panels for each session are completely up to you;
  • You will coordinate different areas of expertise with our Event Coordinators, Marketeers and Business Developers.
  • You research and detect the new trends in Solar Energy and organise your events based on relevant new information.

Here’s what your day will look like as our Project Manager

You start your day with the team, checking in over a coffee while sharing your plans and goals for the day. You learn from Lorena and Frannie what was well appreciated in last week's conference program and what kind of feedback was provided. From this, you decide to adapt the content of your own event in Greece in 4 months and keep in mind Texas in 9 months. You then spend a bit of time researching some content for this next trend in the use of solar combined with agriculture and how the investors perceive it or what are the barriers in some geographies. You share your learning with your peers before heading for lunch at La Cantina! You discuss with your colleague your weekend plan and will offer the drinks on your first day*. After lunch, you check in Salesforce on the status of the sponsors' proposal for your event with Sid and Ward and decide to have a quick catch-up to see if you could help or provide some insights. They give you some hints on what was difficult to sell in the program and you look at how you could improve it. You then follow up with Alyce and Veronica on how you can adapt the advertising campaign to the latest content and how you will highlight the new inspirational speaker you confirmed yesterday. You then prepare for your 1o1 meeting with your team lead to update her/him on project status and see how you want to build your skills and include them in your development plan. You finish with a few urgent e-mails, call it a day, and cycle home.
