Your Role

Retail Conduct and Governance is a diverse team that provides high quality, innovative advice and solutions to financial services firms to help assess, enhance and develop their regulatory and governance frameworks, delivery of good customer outcomes or overall compliance approach.

It has built up an excellent reputation in how to use and apply industry best practice in governance and regulations to support our clients, driving value from the ever increasing and complex regulatory agenda.

Key aspects of the role:

  • Understanding the impact of regulatory developments on clients and the managing of client projects.
  • Developing solutions and value adding propositions and taking these to market.
  • Providing implementation and technical services where remediation is required.
  • Be required to work across several work streams simultaneously and manage senior stakeholder expectations.

To have a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when working in diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the firm's commitment to creating a more inclusive culture.

Location: This role can be worked from our London, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester or Birmingham offices and will involve occasional domestic travel.

Work Pattern: This is a permanent contract opportunity. The role can be worked on a full-time or on a part-time basis.

Your Professional Experience

  • Have technical knowledge and experience of the FCA's regulatory framework as applied to the retail banking, wealth, pensions and life insurance sectors, with a particular focus on Conduct of Business Sourcebook (COBS), Mortgage and Home Finance: Conduct of Business sourcebook (MCOBS) and/or Consumer Credit sourcebook (CONC).
  • Understanding of latest regulatory developments and key current issues facing regulated firms.
  • Degree or equivalent and / or significant relevant consulting or industry expertise either in operational or compliance roles.

Experience in one or more of the following sectors:

  • Wealth / Pensions: with a focus on suitability and outcome testing, investment and defined benefit pension transfer advice and/or investment or life funds.
  • Retail and/or Commercial Lending: with a focus on Collections and Recoveries, Equity Release Secured or Unsecured Lending, including affordability and/or Bounce Bank Loan or Coronavirus Business Interruption Schemes.
  • Relevant industry qualification(s) would be desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing and delivering presentations.
  • Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexible thinking.
  • Positive and ambitious attitude, and ability to work on own initiative.
