A unique maritime adventure

At Heerema Marine Contractors, we do something new every day. We operate the world’s largest crane vessels and with them we transport, install, and remove offshore structures for the offshore energy markets. Our projects range from installing wind turbines, removing retired offshore oil and gas platforms, and installing platforms up to 50,000 metric tons. Your role in the story

Structural engineers are the cornerstone of every project in the Heerema's business units of Wind, T&I or Decommissioning. You will learn the ropes and contribute in our diverse portfolio of projects, tenders, studies and developments. You will tackle challenges which have never been done before and optimize our ways of working by creating sustainable value in finding solutions for re-using equipment and materials.

As an intern you will you will be trained on the job by a specialist in the Structural Engineering field. Together we will create learning objectives in one or more field of:

  • Design lifting arrangements, lift points etc.;
  • Design grillage and sea fastening for a variety of structures;
  • Perform detailed engineering and hand calculations;
  • Perform detailed engineering using software e.g. SACS;
  • An interdisciplinary project team and you will be involved in the preparation of a project.

With the world’s largest crane vessels, we transport, install and dismantle offshore wind structures and ultra-heavy offshore platforms, taking to ever-deeper waters in increasingly isolated locations and amidst exceptional weather conditions.

Is this the job for you?

You are a highly motivated and enthusiastic student who can contribute to solutions for our current and future challenges. Ideally we are interested in the following profile:

  • Enrolled in a Civil Engineering of Mechanical Engineering HBO/Master program;
  • Motivated and a hands-on-mentality;
  • Affinity with the offshore industry;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language, both spoken and written;
  • Available for at least 16 weeks.
