To support our ongoing growth we’re looking to recruit a Treasury Compliance Manager within the 2nd line risk and compliance function working closely with the Head of Compliance and the Head of Financial Risk. You will oversee treasury compliance and conduct matters and provide the necessary support, guidance and challenge in a constructive manner to support the growth of the Bank.

Role Purpose

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Establishing strong relationships with the treasury function, and providing effective oversight and challenge of their compliance with applicable regulation such as market abuse, conflicts of interest, wholesale conduct, MiFID and EMIR.
  • Carry out compliance monitoring reviews of the treasury front and middle office, including compliance with these regulations and carry out control testing..
  • Consider the need for risk appetite metrics and policies in this area and writing these where required.
  • Providing reports to management on the status of treasury compliance risks.
  • Investigate regulatory breaches/near misses in conjunction with the Operational Risk team.
  • Provide the business with advice and guidance on all relevant regulatory obligations and requirements.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships to promote best practice and ensure a good understanding of regulations relevant to the treasury department.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have most of the following:

  • Experience of working in a treasury function in a bank and having compliance responsibilities or experience of providing advice or oversight of treasury compliance in a bank, consultancy firm or regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of the roles of Front, Middle and Back office, regulations relevant to a treasury function in a retail bank and an understanding of regulatory developments.
  • Experience of carrying out compliance monitoring is desirable.
  • Flexible and adaptable; must be able to juggle multiple competing priorities whilst managing expectations.
  • Self starter; proactive attitude, committed to continuous improvement and willing to drive different initiatives in a changing environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a track record of building senior level relationships.
  • Strong influencing skills and an ability to manage change and react quickly with a view.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to challenge in a positive manner and handle difficult situations.
  • Excellent decision making, planning and prioritising skills.
