The Role

We’re looking for a Decontamination Lab Supervisor to join our Decontamination team, based in Cambridge. Reporting to the Senior Decontamination Specialist you will run and supervise our new Sterile Service facility reprocessing robotic instruments for clinical trials, development and customer training.

Responsibilities

  • To apply standards to the reprocessing of reusable medical devices, including disassembly, initial manual cleaning, cleaning, disinfection, checking, assembly, sterilization, despatch and tracking in a controlled environment
  • To supervise, organise and allocate work and/or train less experienced/qualified staff where required
  • To use knowledge and skills when making decisions with regard to non-conformances
  • To ensure routine testing of decontamination equipment at the appropriate intervals to analyse and take appropriate action on any malfunction
  • To supervise, record and analyse the operation of the decontamination equipment ensuring routine tests are completed in accordance with Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedules, Quality Standards and Guidance
  • To work in accordance with Departmental Policy and Quality Management Systems to ensure compliance
  • To assist in the development and regular review of Standard Operating Procedures and department’s policies

About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have/be:

  • Enthusiastic about Sterile Services
  • Be able to work as part of a cross-functional team, interacting with clinicians, engineers, medical professionals, technicians, and business partners
  • Strong relevant experience working within Sterile Services and instrument reprocessing
  • Knowledge of Sterile Services environment, terminology and common procedures
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and use MS Office application

It would also be helpful if you have:

  • A Sterile Services management qualification plus membership of industry institution
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills including a clear and concise writing and presentation style, particularly when describing technical content
