The Technology Manager will be a technical expert with responsibility to ensure service excellence with a focus on technical consultation, data quality, customer satisfaction, productivity, and efficiency. The Individual is accountable to provide technical project leadership, facilitation, and consultation for Meetings & Events systems. Provides direction and technical expertise in design, development, and systems integration.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Provide support for the management of technology tools and processes that enable the delivery of M&E strategies and operational excellence globally
  • Individual is accountable to provide technical project leadership, coordination/ project management, facilitation, and consultation for Meetings & Events systems.
  • Day to day operations will include maintaining and optimizing current technology configurations, project scoping, implementation, integration plans, alignment and identifying risks and issues.
  • Acts as the product expert, guiding and supporting development, product instrumentation and analytics strategy to build a thorough understanding of product usage.
  • Ability to translate complex technical needs so all parties understand what is being requested. Prepare and deliver presentations to leadership and team members
  • Supporting clients where necessary on technically driven aspects of events in particular Virtual Events
  • Responsible for interpreting complex client technical requests and determining the best approach to ensure both successful and technically feasible solutions.
  • Discussing potential projects and their parameters with clients, executives, and software developers.
  • Planning out the blueprints for software projects, including defining the scope, allocating resources, setting deadlines, laying out communication strategies, and indicating tests and maintenance.
  • Organizes and maintains overall project statuses, risks, and issues to provide transparency on all work to stakeholders, business partners and technical teams.
  • Designs, develops, maintains and test new software and/or enhances existing software to ensure that business and technical requirements are met to ensure operational excellence
  • Works closely with IT (Information Technology), Infrastructure and Architecture teams to implement solutions (in line with functional product roadmap) that are valuable, usable, and feasible with support and engagement from business stakeholders
  • Documents and analyses functional requirements, identifies gaps and alternative approaches to meet requirements, and ensures all deliverables completed.

Qualifications

Experience

  • University Degree or equivalent experience
  • Meetings & Events and/or travel industry experience preferred
  • 4+ years of technology management experience
  • Proven experience in project management and software development
  • Proficient in handling the most complex of technical development concepts, latest software tools and technologies, strong database concepts and designing techniques
  • Possesses good knowledge of different software systems, client/server architectures and various compatibility requirements.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, software development processes/techniques and ability to understand and implement client requirements.
  • Experience working closely with IT teams in developing user, client, and operational solutions
  • Demonstrated experience creating information from data and solutions from gaps
  • Deep technical knowledge and expertise required (i.e., Software Development Life Cycle, MYSQL Database, PHPMY Admin, XML & web services, information architecture, content management systems, relational databases tools)

Languages

  • English fluent: written and oral
  • Any foreign language skills are a plus
