Your future plans

RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) has around 1,600 employees from 45 countries and is the international trading house for RWE. We provide large industrial companies and trading partners with energy supply solutions and risk management concepts. We also ensure commercial optimisation of the RWE power stations, operate storage for natural gas and market renewable energy generated by RWE Renewables. Our innovative solutions pave the way to the future of energy – and to a sustainable life.

RWEST embarked an exciting journey towards becoming a modern Data driven organisation. The Project is called Lead in Data (LiD) and it had the aim to design, create and establish a new Data Platform to empower the users to onboard, analyse and share data. The project has hit all its milestones and the platform is now in production, with the onboarding of users going at an incredibly fast pace. We had an incredible journey, but it's not over and we are now entering the next exciting step in the platform’s life cycle by transitioning from project to two newly established RWEST functions by the end of 2022; the technical core team reporting and the Market Data Governance Office (MDGO).

The mission for the MDGO will be to establish and foster a data culture that values data sharing. The MDGO will not only be responsible for establishing and manage the organisation’s data policies, practices, processes, and standards but in operating an independent model, it will lead and assist the Data Community (the users) in understanding and respecting them as means to achieve their business objectives. The MDGO will be the central hub for data culture, driving change to unblock and empower our users.
