FeedbackFruits’ learning platform enables educators to adopt innovative teaching methods and cultivate key skills like collaboration and critical thinking, ensuring that the next generation of learners is ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.

Key to FeedbackFruits’ strategy is enabling educators world-wide to deliver learning experiences through a wide range of online platforms, such as Microsoft Teams, Brightspace, and Moodle. These integrations are central to our success, and this is where you come in!

As integration engineer you’ll be joining the Product Team, which drives the innovation and delivery of our learning platform. Here, you can hone your skills by developing and optimizing integrations between external and internal services, ensuring that students and teachers alike have a seamless experience as they move between platforms. If you’re eager to get your hands dirty in code, are able to figure out external APIs quickly, want to create abstractions over their differences, and do not shy away from working with external stakeholders and experts, this is the role for you.

In this role you’ll collaborate closely with our CTO, and with our team of ambitious product managers, product designers, researchers, QA-specialists, and exceptional engineers, with skills ranging from Cloud Orchestration and JavaScript to Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing. Our code-base is well engineered and well tested, runs on a microservice architecture, with a full CI/CD pipeline in place.

The FeedbackFruits team regularly gets together, both virtually and physically, to share stories and accomplishments. We have regular team events, and often enjoy lunches, dinners, and drinks together in our office in the center of Amsterdam. We hope to welcome you here soon!

Responsibilities:

  • You’re responsible for the in-time delivery of clean, maintainable, and extensible integrations between internal and external services, databases, and systems, making sure your code is well tested and adheres to common development practices
  • You become an expert with the Learning Tools Interoperability standard (experience is a pre but not required)
  • You largely determine your own planning based on input from the team and pick up opportunities to improve the integrations, but are also a good team player within our engineering team, ensuring you do what you can to help your fellow team members out
  • You are available to answer customers' questions and help them set up FeedbackFruits within their systems
  • You’ll be sharing your knowledge through in-depth code reviews, daily stand-ups, and weekly get-togethers
  • You’re expected to be critical on the technical feasibility and user experience of projects during project definitions, kick-offs, and delivery
  • You’ll be thinking along when we’re defining our long-term ambitions

Qualifications:

  • You have worked with modern API standards, such as CRUD, REST, GraphQL, and XML/SOAP
  • You have experience with modern back-end principles and technologies, preferably Ruby on Rails or NodeJS
  • You have a knack for performance and optimization strategies and understand the complexities and caveats of API integrations, such as exponential back-off, N+1 queries, and fault tolerance
  • You are up-to-date on development tools and practices such Git, Continuous Integration, Agile Development, and code reviews
  • You have the drive and focus to work independently, but don’t shy away from reaching out when you get stuck
  • You have a vision for the impact you want to make with your skillset
  • You are proactive, honest, and have a forthcoming attitude towards challenges
  • You are able to clearly communicate your ideas in English
  • You love learning!

What you get?

  • Fast growth trajectory: our company is growing rapidly and we need you to grow with it!
  • Flexible working hours
  • Hybrid work environment
  • A competitive salary package
  • Paid holidays and volunteering days: 25 holidays per year (excluding 3 days for voluntary work and 3 days for learning)
  • Stock Appreciation Rights
  • Learning and Development budget and paid L&D days
  • Transport allowance & Swapfiets subscription
  • Choice between “bring your own device compensation” or company laptop
  • An amazing learning experience for a unique growing company
  • Unlimited access to OpenUp (certified psychologists & webinars on mental health)
  • Free lunches during office work days and free dinners every 2nd Tuesday
