The Role

The Talent & Performance Operations team are responsible for how DeepMinders experience and interact with our performance processes, that are designed to be development focussed and build a performance mentality that will help us achieve our mission. The team focuses on the smooth delivery and the continuous improvement of the performance processes that impact everyone at DeepMind. Collaborating with other teams within People & Culture, and managers and leads across the organisation, this is a great opportunity to develop knowledge of how performance processes are a critical component of P&C Strategy that develops the culture and environment that enables the advancement of AI research.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of our key performance processes including performance evaluation and promotion.
  • Engage with stakeholders of all levels of seniority and disciplines to gather and assess their performance process requirements.
  • Build understanding, knowledge and capability for DeepMinders to interact with our processes in a way that maximises value.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and solutions to optimise the process experience and the operations that enable it, with a focus on efficiency and impact.
  • Work collaboratively with the People & Culture team, particularly P&C Partners to empower them to effectively support their organisational areas.
  • Anticipate problems and identify solutions, using your judgement and discretion to determine and plan the next steps of your work.
  • Work with data to develop reports and insights that inform our plans.
  • Become an internal expert on the tooling that underpins our processes
  • Contribute to broader People & Culture projects.

About You

In order to set you up for success as a Talent & Performance Operations Specialist at DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:

  • You have experience of operating within a HR team advising on process application and improvement.
  • You have an interest and understanding of operationalising processes and continuous improvement
  • You are analytical and enjoy working with and analysing data to generate insights.
  • You have previously worked with software tools that support HR processes
  • You pride yourself on attention to detail and use techniques to make sure important information is accurate
  • You enjoy project and process delivery and have experience managing project plans
  • You are able to build solid relationships with people quickly; you put them at ease and create understanding. You enjoy spending time with people and have a high sense of empathy.
  • Being extremely organised, you are used to working at pace and balancing many different tasks. You are proactive and see what needs to be done.
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy changeable environments where you can implement creative and innovative ideas.
  • You like operating independently but also love being part of a highly encouraging and collaborative team. You share information and support the growth and development of others in your team and understand that succeed or fail, we do so as a team.
