We are looking for an individual who can integrate seamlessly with our team and bring their knowledge, skills and experience to bear while adding value to the way we work across a variety of industries and legal disciplines.

They must be self-reliant whilst working in a team and be clear as to how they want their career to develop within Ashurst.

Main responsibilities:

As a Senior Commercial and Pricing Analyst you will have responsibility for;

  • Developing financial models and analysis, primarily in Excel, to influence key decision makers, Legal Partners and Lawyers
  • Providing sound financial input and robust challenge to a variety of stakeholders e.g. Legal Partners, Business Development, Business Managers, Finance Ops
  • Supporting the bid and negotiation cycle by taking ownership of the commercial aspects of formal RFP responses
  • Support the firm's global pricing governance and creating and running internal training sessions for lawyers and business services teams
  • Supporting the design, development and implementation of Excel based tools
  • Problem solving and adaptable to changing needs
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and share information of Commercial team developments with business teams

Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Essential skills and experience:

Your Professional Experience;

  • An understanding of alternative fee arrangements e.g. fixed fees, capped fees, success fees etc.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the proven ability to convert raw data into concise and actionable intelligence
  • Strong financial modelling, with experience across the Microsoft Office suite including Excel (e.g. vlookups, pivot tables), PowerPoint, Power BI and Word
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks that may have tight and competing deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivated, including excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good commercial awareness and experience providing advisory and support to Legal Partners and other senior stakeholders, with an ability to identify and escalate areas of risk to management
  • Willingness to perform a range of tasks from routine tasks to bespoke activities of a more complex nature as directed by management
  • Prepared to travel as and when required

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with 3e or similar and IBM TM1 - Desirable

  • Previous experience in a business partnering role/professional services environment - Desirable
  • Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) - Desirable
