About the Role

The Marketplace Operations team solves some of Uber Eats' most complex problems. Projects often involve analysis of large data sets, creative problem-solving and close collaboration with both Commercial and Product teams. For a self-starter that possesses exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and a desire to contribute to complex projects at a regional and global scale, this is the opportunity for you!

This specific role will focus on driving operational improvements for our Direct business (white label solution). You will collaborate with the Food Delivery and New Verticals teams in defining a roadmap to support their impressive growth trajectory, and work with your peers in the Marketplace Operations team, and Regional and Product teams to complete these priorities. Your ability to develop insights and build processes at scale will be fundamental to our success in one of the most dynamic industries in the world.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and maintain a roadmap in collaboration with the New Verticals team - priorities will cross all Marketplace Operations areas and beyond
  • Own and iterate on processes that improve consumer, courier and merchant experience
  • Proactively surface opportunities to build and implement new features and processes to capitalise on these opportunities
  • Examine issues and opportunities in great detail, and use data and insights to recommend sound business decisions, and design mitigation plans in the event that the business is adversely impacted
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of cross-functional team members

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor or advanced degree in Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics, or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience within a similar position or advanced degree, ability to manage stakeholders and proven ability to adapt to a fast-moving working environment
  • Robust data analytics and technical skills:
  • Advanced spreadsheet modelling and data visualisation (e.g. dashboarding, Google Data Studio, Tableau)
  • Intermediate/Advanced SQL - build complex tables & queries. Minimum 2 years of experience using SQL for data analysis
  • First-hand experience with statistical analysis and experimentation techniques

Preferred Experience:

  • Using Python, R or similar programming languages
  • Working in a start-up, with hands-on experience
  • Working with Product teams

What we Provide:

Not only does this provide you the opportunity to take on a highly visible role, we also provide great compensation and benefits. This includes: 25 days of vacation each year in addition to paid holidays, the ability to work anywhere in the world for up to 4 weeks a year, a hybrid work model, 100% insurance premiums paid for by Uber, a monthly wellness credit to be used at your discretion, pension match, a large monthly stipend of Uber credits, fully catered in office breakfasts and lunches, family planning allowances, and outstanding parental leave.

At Uber, we reimagine the way the world moves for the better. The idea was born on a snowy night in Paris in 2008, and ever since then, our DNA of reimagination and reinvention carries on. We've grown into a global platform moving people and things in ever-expanding ways, taking on big problems to help drivers, riders, delivery partners, and eaters make movement happen at the push of a button for everyone, everywhere.

We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let's move the world forward, together.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office. For certain roles, such as those based at green-light hubs, employees are expected to be in-office for 100% of their time. Please speak with your recruiter to better understand in-office expectations for this role.

We believe that by solving some of the biggest problems of our time, we can create a future where there is limitless freedom of movement for people and things all across the world.
