The Security services team develops and maintains the gateway security platform at Mimecast. Our mission is to provide scalable infrastructure to protect our valued Mimecast customers from threats. We’re looking for a talented Fullstack Software Engineer 2 to join our team. As an individual contributor in the team, you’ll be working on building and maintaining our security services platform. You'll develop, deploy and manage software across the full continuous delivery life cycle and liaise with other developers, product owners, threat research, security operation teams and QA's to ensure feature requirements definition and best in-class security protection for Mimecast customers.

As a “t-shaped” full-stack software engineer you will contribute to software development activities in both the back end (e.g. Java, Go, Postgres, NoSQL) and the front end (e.g. UI/HTML, JavaScript, Angular) areas of our tech stack, likely specializing in some areas while having an understanding of others.

  • Significant and demonstrable development experience in some open source technologies such as Java, Go, JavaScript, Node.js
  • A broad knowledge of the web platform as a whole (Angular, Bootstrap, TypeScript / JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3), desirable, a willingness to learn is sufficient
  • Experience building REST APIs (must have)
  • Experience developing software within a Micro-Service architecture
  • Experience working in a business critical DevOps environment with a focus on CI and CD
  • Experience with high concurrency applications, multithreading, low-latency, servers architectures
  • Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and caching: e.g. Postgres, Redis
  • Knowledge of email messaging and security highly advantageous
  • Knowledge of network programming and protocol including TCP/IP, HTTP, and SMTP
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and applications
