As a Project Engineer within the Dairy XL-team you support large dairy farmers with the technical design of the company with our Lely technology. The Dairy XL-team is active at farms with more than 500 dairy cows. Together with the parties involved, you guide the customer from the first question to delivery. You operate from the international Dairy XL-team and together with local Lely colleagues you realize the best integration of our technology for our customers. You have an eye for mutual relationships and you ensure that the parties involved can continue independently after completion of the project.

As a Project Engineer you are responsible for the technical and mechanical design of the company. You take into account the wishes, requirements and possibilities of the customer and you ensure that the machines and the setup of the company are well coordinated. Here you work from an initial idea to the complete setup of the company. In addition, you monitor the project objectives 'time' and 'budget' and ensure that these can be achieved within the set frameworks.

Responsibilities:

Projectmanagement:

  • Managing assigned projects within the set goals.
  • Taking into account the interests of various stakeholders.
  • Monitors progress, takes action to make adjustments if necessary and discusses these with stakeholders.
  • Managing customer expectations, timeframe and budget according to Lely standards.

Innovations:

  • Supports the roll-out of new innovations for Dairy XL.
  • Integrates new developments into standard processes.

Work preparation:

  • Checking the planning in outline and making sure that all information is correct.
  • Coordinating the projectteam in following the correct processes within the project.
  • Defining interim milestones with the aim of completing the project within set time and budget.

Continuous Improvement:

Initiating and stimulating improvements in projects and translating this into concrete actions.

As a Project Engineer Dairy XL you have experience building long-term mutually beneficial relationships, you are able to coach Lely Clusters on customer interactions and relationship development and you have an excellent knowledge of the large dairy farming sector.

On top of that...

  • A technical HBO (applied sciences) or WO (university) degree (eg Industrial Engineering).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing international projects.
  • Experience developing others in coaching and mentoring.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Experience on the farm from the design phase to the realization of the project.
  • Willingness to travel around the world.
  • High initiative, ability and ambition to create and cultivate strong partnerships, a motivator to inspire people and consider global agricultural culture.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, good listening and public speaking skills, open-minded attitude and proactive approach.
