Belsimpel is currently the fastest growing online telecom provider in the Netherlands. As Gomibo, we now want to make all customers in the rest of Europe happy too. Of course, our website and all our communication must be available in the language of that country. And this is where you can make a difference!

What will you do as a translations and Customer Service Specialist at Gomibo?

As a translator, you are part of Team International. Together you ensure that we will soon be contacting people all over Europe in their own language and that customers from every country can come to us with all their telecom questions. We recently started offering the Gomibo website in Spanish, Italian, French, Swedish, and Danish. In the near future we will also add Portuguese, Polish, Czech, Norwegian, and Finnish. As a translator you are responsible for translating all web content. You are also responsible for indirect customer communication for one or more of these languages translated from Dutch or English. This includes product descriptions, information pages, emails, SEO texts, and Tips & Tricks.

Besides general translating, you will also help out at the customer service. Our customer service receives questions from all countries where Gomibo is active. You will answer these customers in their own language, mainly by email and sometimes by phone. Together, we will determine what is needed for your language, what you want to do, and where your talents lie. This way, we create a mixed role that is never boring! For this job, it is important that you are a strong communicator. You are a real wordsmith and understand like no other what appeals to people and how to explain, sometimes complex, issues as clearly as possible.

Team International is a young team that works to ensure that our European expansion proceeds smoothly every single day. This international team consists largely of part-time colleagues who study alongside their jobs. This means that there is always a friendly and casual atmosphere among colleagues. Moreover, you have contact with other teams on a regular basis, such as Category Management, Customer Journey, and other teams for which you are the go-to person for translations. Almost every week there is an afternoon social or an event, so you can get to know your colleagues well very quickly!

What will a regular day look like?

At the door, you greet Jonathan, one of the English translators. While walking up the stairs, you talk about last weekend's Belsimpel summer festival and, once upstairs, you grab coffee for both of you. You quickly check your mailbox after switching on your PC and discuss your to-do list for the day with the rest of the team. One of the priority tasks is to translate various emails and product texts for the launch of the latest iPhone. You start working on this immediately and put your emails and texts for the website online the same morning. After this, it's time for a request from Rutger, a colleague from Development. He has made an update to the Customer Account and needs the new texts to be translated to your language as well. You finish off the morning with the weekly team meeting, in which you discuss the action list and priorities for the week ahead.

Then it's time for your lunch break! You spend it on the sunny roof terrace, together with your colleagues from Customer Journey. You spend the afternoon answering emails from our foreign customers. At the end of your shift, you turn off your computer with a satisfied feeling, you've made a lot of customers happy today.
