Corporate Recruiter (24-40 hours)
Top priority on the management agenda is to attract and retain the right people for our technical high performance organization. Van Oord’s growth strategy for the coming years is very ambitious. The Talent Acquisition department is therefore facing a tough challenge. Our department scaled down in 2020, due to covid and a small reorganization and we had to scale up considerably and quickly in 2021 to meet the ever-increasing organizational demand. We will continue our growth in 2022. Due to the internal step of one of our colleagues and the replacement of our interim colleagues, we are looking for a Corporate Recruiter for our staff positions (HR, Legal, ICT, Procurement, Finance, Treasury and Facility).
The Talent Acquisition department - currently 27 colleagues (permanent, interim and internship) - divided into 2 teams: Recruitment Permanent and FlexOord. Together we are responsible for the entire recruitment process of about 500 vacancies and about 1500 flex-employees on a yearly basis. All in scarce, knowledge intensive target groups. The coming year will be characterized by building a sustainable recruitment department (more permanent recruitment colleagues and less interim), building and securing organizational and target group knowledge, building talent pipelines, updating our labor market communications, creating a streamlined collaboration between sourcers and recruiters and a solid efficiency improvement in our end-to-end recruitment process.
As a recruiter you are a partner for the hiring managers in your portfolio. Not only finding the right candidate, but also challenging them tactically and strategically: how do we achieve a 100% match, how do we turn an 80 into a 100%, what will your department need in 5 years, etc. You are responsible for the entire end-to-end recruitment process: from an effective intake, mapping your target group, building a candidate pipeline, conducting interviews and evaluating e-assessments, to making the joboffer. You will work closely with the hiring manager and hr advisor. Together with the TA team you build the position of Van Oord as an employer of choice and improve and strengthen the TA department.

It was a privilege to work in my own group of trainees and watch each and every one of us grow into the people we are today. The traineeship has transformed all of us into confident young professionals proud of the work we’ve done and enthusiastic to do more in our future roles in Van Oord.
Although I came well prepared, there was still a lot to learn. Luckily the traineeship is set up for exactly that; you learn by doing but also have people to reach out to if you get stuck. In addition we participate in trainings and activities which help us navigate the challenges we face
