Main purpose of the role would be to own and manage Sky’s multi-vendor IP lab environment featuring Cisco/Nokia/PA/F5 devices, and responsible to resolve all lab related issues.

What you’ll do:

  • Day to Day support for network engineers using the lab for testing and product evaluation and service development
  • Lab device management and IP address management
  • Build, scale up lab environments and improving lab up time via proactive monitoring
  • Identify lab improvement activities on ongoing basis and implement them
  • Stakeholder management with implementation teams & lab users to reduce long patching delays and improve ticket closure time for lab cases
  • Securing lab environment with appropriate firewall & user access policies
  • Escalation point in lab to support issues needing urgent attention
  • Maintaining documentation of the lab network, updated diagrams, processes and policies

What you’ll bring:

  • Diploma in an Engineering discipline that includes modules in telecoms
  • Basic IP Routing and Switching experience
  • Understanding of various types of fibers (SM, MM) & Transceivers
  • Eager to learn & develop new skills
  • Team player, focused on quality, problem solving and customer experience
  • Written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively present solutions to stakeholders
  • CCNA qualification or equivalent is desirable
  • Lab admin or support experience for a Telco/ISP/Enterprise is desirable
