About the role:

As part of this role, the successful candidate will:

Responsibilities:

Project Development and Delivery:

  • Work within an agile team to develop, test, and maintain web applications and other supported software platforms built on firm standard software technologies
  • Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, development of user stories, and estimates
  • Design and develop new applications or modify existing applications to add new features
  • Implement queries and repository interfaces for existing or proposed databases
  • Develop and unit test applications in accordance with established development standards
  • Develop and execute test plans, analyze test results, and make appropriate revisions to ensure the applications function as specified
  • Follow the standard systems development process, and use the established coding and design standards, and standard tools as defined by the Software Engineering team
  • Participate in Over-the-Shoulder Review code reviews of solution designs and related code
  • Package and support deployment of releases
  • Assist in conducting demo/training to users once the application is built
  • Support users by developing technical documentation and assistance tools

Business Support Delivery

  • Provide first to third-level support to business users
  • Communicate with different users by writing business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, and professional
  • Analyze business support requests and apply resolutions in a timely manner
  • Investigate application incidents and provide estimates for the required application changes
  • Modify the existing application to correct defects or to improve its performance
  • Generate complex reports via backend based on the specification provided by the business users
  • Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time

Experience Required

Essential Criteria:

To be successful in this role you will need:

Skills and Experience:

  • Some Microsoft development experience, using
  • ASP Classic, ASP.NET, ASP .Core, MVC
  • VBScript, VB.NET, C#
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery
  • Transact SQL programming (within SQL Server)
  • MS SQL Reporting Services
  • Working experience in Team Foundation Server, HTML5, CSS, mobile app development
  • Working experience in Mobile App and/or SharePoint Development a plus
  • Work independently or as part of a team with supervision to deliver working software
  • Knowledgeable in the full development life cycle using Agile or another development framework
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports or MS-SQL Reporting Services a plus
  • Experience in n-tier architecture with SQL backend or service-oriented architecture
  • An understanding of system development methodology and object-oriented design
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
