The Opportunity

Leonardo Cyber Division is looking to recruit a Cyber Security Solutions Architect based out of its site in London. The role requires candidates with demonstrable experience of designing solutions for complex, distributed systems within defence, government or public sector.

What you will do

Leonardo has an opening for a Solutions Architect to join its Cyber Security Team based in Bristol. You will be working in a dynamic environment with a team that is motivated to deliver innovative solutions to customers within defence, government and commercial sectors. You will be designing cyber security solutions and secure infrastructure platforms for a variety of complex system needs including defence systems, multi-national enterprises and critical national infrastructure. You will be working with a broad range of technologies across the stack including advanced security analytics, security information and event monitoring, digital forensics, and middleware software systems that enable agile development and integration of systems for on premise and cloud-based solutions. You will be part of an Architecture Team with the remit to help evolve and mature the capability of the solutions and products that we take to market, finding solutions to complex problems and keeping abreast of current and emerging technologies to influence change where it is needed.

As a Solutions Architect you will be working on bids and proposals, and delivery programmes where you will oversee the development team through the detailed design, implementation and integration phases to ensure the design integrity off the solution is maintained throughout. To this end the Solution Architect will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of requirements capture, definition, decomposition and allocation to an architectural design that reflects all stakeholder needs, and selection of the technology solution that best meets that need.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Stakeholder engagement including customers, programme managers, business leaders, developers and implementers, safety, security and other subject matter experts
  • Develop concepts, review, elicit and derive requirements
  • Define architectural designs and technology solutions in support of bids or project delivery
  • Ensure the design integrity of solutions throughout development through the provision of supervision and guidance to development teams

What we are looking for

As a Solutions Architect you will possess strong analytical skills with an ability to understand the problem and solution trade spaces.

Skills and experience in several of the following areas is advantageous:

  • Cyber capability definition and assessment
  • Knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, NAF, SABSA)
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering, utilising UML & SysML tools
  • Knowledge of security standards, processes and application of security enforcing measures
  • Broad knowledge of both IT and Cyber tools such as NIPS, FPC, vulnerability assessment, computer forensics, SIEM, etc.
  • Broad knowledge of Microsoft Platform technologies
  • Broad knowledge of Virtualisation Platforms, storage technologies and enterprise server platforms
  • Enterprise Networking & Services (TCP/IP Networks, devices & services (e.g. DHCP/DNS)
  • Security of Operational Technology systems
  • Candidates will possess the following personal characteristics
