If so, then we have the perfect role for you at Airbus Defence and Space in Newport where we are currently looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer.

We are currently looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer.

You will be joining a growing team in our Cyber Security Hardware Engineering department.

You will take the lead in all aspects of electronics hardware design.

Your days will usually be spent specifying hardware architectures, working out solutions to problem statements and performing in-house electronics design.

As the role is based at our Airbus Defence and Space offices in Newport, South Wales, and involves working within the UK Defence industry, you will be required to be able to be security cleared to a UK SC level.

On a usual week you will

  • Design, develop, integrate and test electronics hardware
  • Work with other team members mentoring them in electronics hardware development tools and methodologies
  • Be responsible for resolving clearly defined problem statements into design solutions, typically up to 6 months in duration
  • Ensure all the appropriate processes, tools and methodologies are used to design and deliver allocated electronics hardware development work packages
  • Secure that electronics hardware development plans can be estimated in detail, and resource requirements can be allocated

Things we need from you

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
  • A Good working knowledge of Field Programmable gate Arrays (FPGA)
  • You will need to have a well established career of digital design and implementation
  • Have a history of designing high-speed electronic equipment that is CE compliant with EMC, Safety and RoHS criteria to high standards
  • In depth knowledge of electronics hardware development
