About the Internship

This team is focused on driving Growth and Engagement across the Rider & Driver base by continuously optimizing the lifecycle and customer experience through a focus on data and customer insights. This internship provides an outstanding opportunity to gain an understanding of both sides of the Uber marketplace and to learn how to use data and qualitative insights to drive action and business impact.

What You'll Do

Increase the number of drivers onboarding to Uber by:

  • Running experiments to identify new guarantee and incentive levers and optimize existing levers
  • Reduce friction in the funnel by identifying improvement areas from a combination of data, customer insights, and regional team input

Today the team is working on:

  • Increasing Rider awareness and adoption of new product lines (e.g. Premium)
  • Increasing the number of Riders & Drivers who sign up to Uber and increasing conversion to first trip and early experience on the Uber app
  • Educating drivers on Electric Vehicle options and encouraging conversion to meet our daring external sustainability commitments
  • Improving the experience of our drivers, solving problems and app bugs, reducing costs for drivers through vehicle deals, and improving our loyalty program

Basic Qualifications

  • Written and spoken fluency in English
  • Currently enrolled or graduated in the last 6 months in a Masters or Bachelors degree
  • Availability to work 6 months full time in 2022 starting 3rd of October
  • Business Insight: Understanding and being fully aware of how our business operates and how it makes money and sustains profitable growth, now and in the future
  • Communication: Using communication skills and situational awareness to clearly deliver information to a variety of audiences
  • Planning and Organization: Setting up and maintaining systems to appropriately structure and keep track of tasks and projects
  • Problem Solving: Optimally resolving issues that involve people, things, and processes by using logic and common sense
  • Stakeholder Management: Taking time to build helpful relationships; earning the trust of others within the organization through strong situational awareness and reliability
  • Teamwork: Demonstrates optimism, respects others and works well in a team
  • Working rights in the Netherlands (No sponsorship available)
  • Strong project management skills. The ability to prioritize and optimally drive a project from beginning to end
  • Strong communication and comfortable sharing information formally or informally with different audiences
  • Strong data analytics skills, including sophisticated manipulation of large data sets, ideally SQL knowledge (and if not, must possess the aptitude to learn quickly as this will quickly form part of your day-to-day activity), the latest statistics, modeling
  • Discernment: the ability to tie analysis back to business to drive actionable insights

Preferred Qualifications

  • A prior internship experience working in a startup, tech company, or any kind of operations internship
  • Degree in economics, business, maths or sciences
  • Hard data skills: SQL, Excel, data visualization & analytics
