1.56 million children are currently in child labour in Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire, the countries that grow 70% of world’s cocoa. Tony’s Chocolonely exists to change that since 2005, so that cocoa farmers don’t have to live in poverty and resort to child labour anymore.
We make chocolate from fully traceable cocoa beans that we buy directly from cooperatives in Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire, we pay a higher price for cocoa beans so the farmers can reach a living income, we invest in long term relationships with cocoa farmers, and we train them to increase their efficiency and help them organise themselves.
Proudly certified as a B Corporation, we started in The Netherlands, then scaled-up to UK, DACH, USA and recently to Belgium and Sweden. With more than 100.000 serious friends, we are challenging the Big Choco to create a fair world of chocolate. With a 109.5 million Euro revenue and almost 9.000 farmers partnering up with us, we have exciting expansion plans for 2022.
Sales is crucial in making our impact. Directly, because by selling more chocolate, we can buy more cocoa beans and help farmers getting out of poverty, and indirectly, because when we are commercially successful our competition will wake up and change their sourcing principles as well. So come join us to make some impact!
Our Sales team in the Benelux & Beyond is focusing on several channels; Supermarkets, Out of home (wholesalers and their customers), E-commerce, Export and Duty Free & Travel retail. For our team we are looking for three interns to support us in making as much impact as possible. The three internships are similarly but will have a different channel focus. Based on your skills we will define the perfect channel match for you (language or IT skills, personal preferences, etc.) You’ll get insights into all functions within Sales and learn how we work with our customers to increase revenue, but also how to work with our internal stakeholders, such as the Marketing team.
Ready to raise the bar with us in the chocolate business? Here’s what you’ll do:
And more specifically based on the channel team you will join you will work on one or more of these tasks:
You’re studying for/or just finished an HBO/university degree in a commercial or business direction and are looking to gain practical experience in a real work environment within a sales team. You have a good understanding of the Dutch language, and you are comfortable with English. Experience with Microsoft Excel, a third language or digital savviness are a nice to have!
It is great if you have relevant experience in a customer-facing position, such as Sales or Customer Service, but curiosity and the motivation to dive deeper into the topic are more important to us. Important is that you’re not afraid to speak to customers and other stakeholders and to get in contact with people you don’t know yet.
In previous internships, side jobs or your university projects, you have proven to be able to work independently and precisely. When you see anything that can be better, you like to give and receive feedback about it and improve it, instead of making it look all shiny.
We like people with a positive attitude. And like a real Tony, you always challenge yourself and the team to increase ambitions. You dare to make mistakes and learn from them. Raise the bar! You feel a clear connection with our core values: outspoken, wilful, entrepreneurial & makes you smile.
From classics to limited editions, we know that different flavours make life more inspiring. And not just in our chocolate assortment. At Tony’s, we welcome everyone with equal enthusiasm – regardless of race, colour, age, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. We’re crazy about chocolate, serious about people.
Hard facts:
Tony’s Chocolonely wants to make all chocolate 100% slave free. Not just our chocolate, but all chocolate worldwide. Not exactly the average company, right? Instead a chocolate company whose primary goal is to resolve a social issue in the world.
