Regional Deployment Lead

The Regional Deployment Leader will work closely with global and regional leaders and cross-functional team members within the business and IT to manage the implementation of our strategic enterprise solution releases across the region. The Regional Deployment Leader will ensure that a consistent deployment discipline is followed for all enterprise solution releases and will partner with cutover managers, system release managers, program delivery leadership and other business leaders at the sites as we deploy our standardized business processes and enterprise systems within the business.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business and IT leadership for all aspects of deployment planning and execution, including enterprise release scoping, detailed regional implementation planning and deployment plan execution through cutover, go-live and stabilization periods
  • Ensures institutionalization of deployment process standards across all releases within the region, incorporating key learnings acquired throughout multiple implementations
  • Prepare and deliver critical communications required to various stakeholders across the region, cross-functional teams and the sites to ensure a clear understanding of timelines, risks, escalation paths and roles/responsibilities during deployment of the defined solutions
  • Act as an escalation point for the project team and business stakeholders to manage risks, develop mitigation plans and deal with in-region issues during the solution implementation
  • Ensure that critical implementation task dependencies and critical paths are understood by all parties involved and drive issue resolution during execution of the implementation plan
  • Coach and develop deployment teams in the deployment methodology as well as in key behaviors required for a successful implementation
  • Update or develop documentation on processes that are critical to successful implementation of the enterprise solutions
  • Identify opportunities to streamline deployments, share best practices with your peers and leaders and implement continuous improvement actions on a regular basis
  • Provide frequent on-site monitoring and enforcement of the defined implementation schedule, including reporting of status against deployment milestones to various stakeholders
  • Engage with 3rd party vendors, service providers and other external parties required to successfully deploy the end-to-end solution
  • Partner with relevant leaders to help secure in-region personnel or supplemental resources required to execute the implementation plans during peak periods of overlapping deployments
  • As necessary, support the execution of business continuity plans and disaster recovery plans required during deployment execution

  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required to successfully engage with stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple 3rd party vendors and service providers required to successfully execute high complexity project/program implementations
  • Experience working with and coordinating the completion of critical implementation tasks and activities being executed by globally distributed team members
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, and with all levels of the organization and cope with rapidly changing information
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining a positive work environment through teamwork & conflict resolution
  • Ability to quickly assess issues and make difficult decisions while working under pressure, including assessing business impacts of those decisions

Required Experience:

  • Previous leadership roles responsible for managing large-scale highly complex ERP deployment projects with integration across several functional areas
  • 5+ years of prior SAP project implementation experience which included multiple and complex business process and system change projects across multiple sites or regions
  • Experience in deployment activities for an SAP implementation for at least 1 or 2 global implementations
  • 10-15 years of project experience in IT
  • 3-5 years of hands on SAP experience
  • Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Experience in full project lifecycle of multiple global, high complexity IT and business transformation projects or programs
  • Training or experience in project management practices for both waterfall as well as Agile/DevOps methodologies
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors and service providers across a solution landscape
  • Proven capability of partnering with senior leaders across the organization to execute a large-scale implementation plan
