The Nielsen Planning team is responsible for leveraging multiple data sources & inputs to empower advertisers, publishers and agencies with the intelligence they need to drive revenue, increase market share, and optimize their audiences and investments. We are looking for a skilled, data savvy professional to join as a Product Manager of Nielsen Budget Planner.

As a Product Manager you will work closely with other product leaders, clients and Nielsen sales teams to understand the strategic planning process and help translate these needs into a prioritized roadmap for the development team. You will also partner daily with different teams of various expertises (i.e. technology, UX, operations, data science, marketing and other product teams) to drive the development of these roadmap items into a fully realized product functionality. You will be responsible for writing user stories and maintaining the product backlog. You can expect direct client contact and involvement throughout the whole development life cycle, including gathering client feedback, testing, external marketing efforts and others.

RESPONSIBILITIES/OBJECTIVES

  • Write, refine, and prioritize user stories in support of the overall product roadmap
  • Execute against the product roadmap to ensure timely delivery against thin slices
  • Collaborate closely with product leadership on overall product strategy
  • Collaborate within and across product development teams to build to align priorities for any product dependencies
  • Advocate for scalable solution design that supports end user needs and use cases
  • Support product leaders in defining the Go-To-Market strategy, leading parts of the launch/release process, and driving post-launch adoption to realize the intended value
  • Leverage Agile best practices to execute against roadmap with flexibility and ultimately ship the right product at the right time
  • Participate in scrum team and lead agile ceremonies (Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Demos, Backlog Grooming, Retrospectives) across different time zones when required
  • Build trusting relationships with technology partners and be accountable for the development team’s culture and engagement with the vision/roadmap of the product
  • Effectively communicate product status and progress to leadership and stakeholders
  • Communicate the overall status of initiatives and escalation of issues to senior leadership
  • Serve as an informed, definitive voice on product functionality in order to represent the product vision externally and accurately gather and respond to client feedback

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of direct product management
  • Strong knowledge of the marketing planning workflow across advertisers, agencies, and publishers or knowledge of budget setting & allocation processes
  • Experience in planning, developing, and managing products, preferably in advertising, marketing, media or technology fields
  • Experience in Agile and Scrum development practices
  • Strong communication, persuasion, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive product research and competitive analyses
  • Ability to listen and quickly distill information to recommend a course of action in driving project deliverables or client escalations
  • Client-facing experience with the ability to successfully interface with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed process and technology conversations and appropriately summarize this information at a level of detail that is meaningful to internal and client stakeholders
  • Ability to travel for internal strategic planning meetings & team development when restrictions are lifted
