A typical day on the job of a marketing intelligent expert starts with an online event in where customers, competitors and experts share their latest insights about insects as source of protein and other nutrients for food or feed. You know where Protix stands out in products and capacity and quickly extract the information we need to fill in our commercial opportunities. You add this information to our database and put it in a short presentation. By sharing the key takeaway messages with the right internal shareholders you make sure they are on track to excite our (new) customers.

Protix is the leading company in natural and sustainable proteins and other nutrients from insects. Our vision is a food system in balance with nature. The black soldier fly (hermetia illucens) is a key player in bringing our vision to life: their larvae provide us with a unique source of ingredients for food and feed. We are the market leader when it comes to high quality and scalable insect ingredients production. In our plants we produce high value insect protein, lipids and fertilizer. Your Position
You are a marketing intelligence expert, who enjoys to spot and analyse market trends, regulatory developments and segmentations, in order to detect our commercial opportunities. You have a passion for our mission and want to know all about our unique products and capabilities. With this knowledge and understanding you are driven to search for those developments in the market and industry that give us the insights we need to fill in the needs of (new) customers and excite them with our great products.
As a marketing intelligence expert you collect these insights through desk research, attending conferences and events, and maintaining a journalist-quality network of contacts within the industry. Your customer and end user (need) research gives us direct trusted access to our key customers.
The knowledge and intelligence in our industry is constantly developing. In order to drive our competitive intelligence you maintain a database of insights that consists of external articles, presentations collected, and interview notes. You make sure that all intelligence is clearly summarized in one paragraph and fully tagged. This enables your colleagues in the Commercial and Management Team to easily find the right information by searching through the database.
Having researched and collected all this information, you sensitize your colleagues on the latest developments and opportunities by communicating your insights and ensure they are able to use these in their daily practice. You do this in several ways. First of all, you produce a weekly one-page bullet point newsletter, which summarizes your most important new insights. Secondly, you provide for specific information to your colleagues in the commercial team, solicited and unsolicited. And finally, you provide for content for Sales talking points, marketing materials, and external publications and presentations.
As a market intelligence expert, you play a crucial role in the commercial direction and growth ambition of Protix. Together with your colleagues you determine the destination and set the course of our company and products. You are part of the commercial team and work in cooperation with Sales, New Business Development and Product Development. You report to the Director Product Development.
