WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will be based in our Lisbon or Brussels office as part of our Vivid Economics team, a mission-driven, strategic economics group that works with clients in both the public and private sectors to tackle some of the biggest sustainability issues facing our world today.

In March 2021, Vivid Economics and Planetrics became an integral part of McKinsey Sustainability, a client service platform with the goal of helping all industry sectors transform to get to net zero by 2050 and cut carbon emissions by half by 2030. By combining deep industry knowledge, advanced analytics, and proven change management approaches with specialized expertise in economics and sustainability, we help our clients achieve sustainable growth.

Vivid Economics is committed to diversity and inclusion and welcomes all applicants regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will work on our NatuRisk toolkit which financial institutions use to assess their impact and dependence on global biodiversity and nature.

In this role, you will work with financial institutions globally including pension funds, asset managers, insurers and banks. You will use the tool to build on existing modelling and tool-building expertise Vivid Economics has developed to assess climate change risks. You will integrate innovative industrial research from Neural Alpha and academic research from the Natural History Museum to adapt this to biodiversity.

You will manage the technical development of the NatuRisk toolkit. You will oversee and troubleshoot the modelling, coding and data architecture as it is developed in conjunction with the rest of the team. You will also provide support with the product strategy. You will often work in sprint style production processes (following an “agile” project management approach) and produce high quality end products.
