You will be based in our office in Wroclaw or Amsterdam as part of the Decarbonization Analytics Team within Energy Insights (EI).
EI develops proprietary models and data foundations on optimal decarbonization pathways of industrial sectors, companies, and even individual assets (including oil and gas, petrochemicals, manufacturing, chemicals, cement, or steel production). As a member of the EI team, you will work closely with Energy Insights (EI) and Global Energy & Materials (GEM) Practices leadership and colleagues on Client engagements. You will provide distinctive insights, and support to clients all over the world.
The EI team comprises business analysts as well as industry specialists who are responsible for identifying potential decarbonization levers and assessing the underlying novel technologies techno-economic assumptions and implications on strategic decisions. The team works in a start-up environment and is growing rapidly across the globe.
You will apply proprietary perspectives, tools, and methodologies to solve the most challenging problems our clients are facing today.
In this role, you will develop the next wave of McKinsey’s decarbonization perspectives and capabilities. You will conduct research and analysis covering a broad range of topics across industrial sectors decarbonization.
In your first 6-12 months with the team, you will work on deepening our perspective on decarbonization levers. You will have plenty of growth opportunities to specialize in a particular area of the global decarbonization effort. Over time, you will further develop by taking ownership over the development and growth of new capabilities within EI and you will develop into a world-class expert on those perspectives acting as a thought partner to McKinsey senior leadership and our clients.
In your second year, you will be spending at least 50% working directly with our clients, shaping their decarbonization agendas (incl. evaluating potential decarbonization pathways, analyzing value-at-stake, estimating strategic implementations) or initiating entire decarbonization transformations.
You will engage in recruitment activities and presentations to clients and participate in external events. You will also receive plenty of support and inspiring challenges through on-the-job coaching and training programs.
