WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will be based in one of our offices in Europe as part of the engineering team. You will be developing PlanetView, a software as a service solution which helps the financial sector understand and manage climate change risks. You will work alongside our physical and transitionrisk modeling teams, following agile processes, to bring new datasets, analytical approaches and features to production. We work with financial data, terabytes of global climate data and a wide range of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) data and integrate them in our class-leading advanced economic models.

Planetrics is a client service platform within McKinsey Sustainability with the goal of helping all industry sectors transform to get to net zero by 2050 and cut carbon emissions by half by 2030.

We are specialists in the design of climate-change risk and opportunity modeling at the level of regions, sectors and assets, and in integrating this data with existing modeling and decision-making frameworks. The Planetrics model and our PlanetView solution are used by world’s leading banks, asset managers, owners, and insurers to support portfolio management, risk management, regulatory reporting, and stress testing.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will focus on developing automated tests and frameworks, working within our Agile development team. You will maintain the automated execution of test suites, take ownership of issues as well as perform exploratory testing. You will be playing a pivotal role in ensuring that what we release is robust and resilient. You will be prototyping and exploring solutions to hard problems and seeing them through to production.

You will also manage your day-to-day priorities and commitments within your team setting while ensuring that technical standards and best practices are exercised. Lastly, you will apply new knowledge and innovation to the existing codebase.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics, physics or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills paired with the ability to develop creative and efficient solutions
  • Extensive experience testing web and native mobile apps (Javascript / React, Native React Native)
  • Passion for automation and implementation of reliable test automation (unit/integration) into CI/CD
  • Experience with design for software and firmware running on multiple platform types
  • Experience with browser/behavior testing (Puppeteer, Cypress, Selenium) or willingness to learn
  • Interest in sustainability and climate-change issues
