Objective

You will be leading a spin-off based on cutting-edge disease diagnosis technology from TU Delft and orchestrate all resources, efforts, and initiation to bring the product to the market.

Scope and Impact

You will gain broad exposure across all business areas, building an in-depth understanding of how to successfully run a business day-to-day. As a co-founder, this will give you an opportunity to do a real-life business administration with exposure to all kinds of aspects of venture building including fundraising, finance and business development i.e. learning by doing. Additionally, you’ll get unparalleled support from Delft Enterprises, the spin-off experts from TU Delft and advice from experienced entrepreneurs. You’ll become a master in living and breathing our vision to provide ‘Diagnostics for all’ by always looking to optimise and add portfolios including clients, stakeholders, business partners, collaborators and projects to build a highly effective organisation through our people and processes.

Your skills, experience and competencies

• Prior experience with the start-up environment and fundraising

• A degree in business administration (or equivalent) or entrepreneurial experience

• Communication and networking skills needed for building new relationships and sustaining existing collaborations

• Understanding of the Dutch tax system and business rules and regulations

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities

• Proactivity in problem-solving and advisory skills

• Good business acumen

Your responsibilities

In this role, you will be involved in

• Identifying launching customers & partners and recognizing market opportunities

• Defining business strategies and action plans

• Providing financial estimates, budget management and fundraising (awards, grants, pre-seed/seed funding etc.)

• Forming and orchestrating the team

About STAND:

STAND (Simple Tool for Affordable, Non-invasive Diagnostics) is a TUD spin-off that offers cutting-edge technology for point-of-care disease diagnosis. At STAND we envision a highly sensitive and reliable diagnostic device with “sample-in, answer-out” capabilities that can operate in decentralized locations such as homes. Building on 5+ years of research on CRISPR/Cas9-based DNA detection at TUD, we are aiming to establish a platform technology for disease diagnoses for samples such as urine or blood.
