The Terrace is looking for an enthusiastic sustainability reporting professional. We are an agency that is 100% committed to positive change and part of the B Corp community. You will seize the opportunity to guide our clients in the production of their (annual) sustainability report and accelerate their positive change. You will do this together with an ambitious & dynamic team in the heart of Amsterdam.

Reporting for positive change

Our agency helps clients with their sustainability strategy, implementation and communication. Reporting is a key part of these services. Our conviction is that this should always be about reporting for positive change, rather than reporting on positive change. Sustainability is all about the future, while reporting predominantly looks back. By placing reporting in function of the future you envision, it can mobilize and move people within and outside of the company to contribute to a more sustainable future.

Your role in the team

As a reporting consultant your goal is to guide our clients in the entire reporting process: from strategic preparation and structuring, to collecting the necessary quantitative and qualitative data, to creating the report and finally communicating it towards internal and external stakeholders. Naturally, you know how to work with important guidelines such as GRI, TB, IIRC, SASB and TCFD. And you are fully aware of the developments of these guidelines.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the project management of reporting processes from start to finish (including deliverables, process, budget and relationship management).
  • You manage different project teams of copywriters, designers, editors and creatives.
  • You are the first point of contact for our reporting clients.
  • On a strategic level, you constructively challenge our clients on how the report could be further optimised and spot opportunities for further steps in sustainability.
  • You are on top of sustainability & reporting trends and developments and proactively share these with our team. This includes digitalization trends and upcoming legislation.
  • You are alert for activation & communication opportunities for the clients’ report, both internally and externally, and advise on ways to plan and execute.
  • You convert our clients’ wishes into a thorough proposal and action plan.
  • You build and maintain relationships with our local and international clients, ensuring they are supported by The Terrace in every step of their reporting journey.

Next to your project work, our team offers professional development opportunities, and encourages entrepreneurship and flexibility to develop yourself and your own ideas, wherever you see opportunities, for example in the field of impact assessments.

Your skills & experience

  • University degree (MA or MSc) in business and/or related studies, with a focus on sustainability
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience
  • Up-to-date knowledge of non-financial data and of guidelines such as GRI, SASB, IIRC and TCFD, and benchmarks such as the TB, CDP and the Dow Jones Sustainability Index
  • Strong Dutch and English language skills (oral and written)
  • Experience with copywriting and editing
  • Analytical, fast thinking, and strong conceptual and planning abilities, through which you can simplify complex information
  • Strong social skills, you enjoy building and maintaining good relationships with clients and various stakeholders

Good to know

  • We offer a contract for 32-36 hours per week for 1 year, after which we together look at possible extension and renewal.

  • You preferably work from our office in Amsterdam min. 3 days per week, but we also accommodate flex-time schedules and telecommuting.
  • In line with our goal to be a diverse and inclusive organisation, we make optimal use of the diversity of talents and capacities in the labour market.
