Here at PepsiCo, we have a 12 month Quality & Food Safety student placement opportunity in our Supply Chain team based at our Walkers manufacturing site in Coventry.

You’ll have lots of autonomy where your decisions will really make a difference to our business and in return you’ll have the chance to develop your skills and experience in a fast paced, energetic environment.

What you’ll get up to:

  • To support the Quality & Food Safety Team on delivering key Quality and Food Safety initiatives, specifically the key metrics for the site. This will include:
  • Supporting the Quality Specialists through trending of Consumer Complaints plus identification and facilitation of work streams for complaint reduction opportunities with site manufacturing teams.
  • Supporting the Food Safety Team to drive food safety performance through completion of audits and taking an active role in root cause analysis following food safety issues.
  • Supporting the site’s BRC Agenda by working on specific projects to drive continued improvements.

Qualifications/Requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • Undergraduate student, following path to a degree level qualification in Food Science /Food Science & Technology/Food Manufacturing/Food and Consumer Studies or equivalent.
  • High degree of initiative and drive to maintain and improve Food Safety and Quality within a Manufacturing Facility, with the ability to be pro-active and multi-task.
  • Keen to gain experience of working in the Food Industry within a Quality and Food safety function.
  • Sharp problem solving skills and knowledge of standard tools.
  • Passion for engineering and staying on top of industry developments.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate to a diverse audience.
  • High degree of self-motivation combined with good organisational skills.
  • Supportive team player with an accurate, methodical and reliable approach.
  • Good communication, verbal and written.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
  • Full UK driving license.

This 12 month placement starts in July 2018, with a salary of £17,500
