In the role of the Principal Azure Sales Specialist, you lead and help one or two of our global customers to continue to engage on the transformational cloud journey with Microsoft and shape the future of their business with technology. Starting from the customer, you work with them and Microsoft teams on the right strategy to enable Azure growth aligning the engagements, business proposals and global resources with the customer business outcomes. You work with the global account team, other Azure specialists and architects, partners, Microsoft Services and special area teams to land and coordinate the Azure strategy from the opportunity identification to successfully helping the customer migrate, modernize and innovate. You are in charge of the commercial constructs with the customer enabling growth. You are leveraging and creating best practices, innovative tools and continuous success. You architect the Microsoft approach and proposals to answer the customer questions and create governance models to ensure success end to end.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the global Azure initiatives and growth strategy driving consumption and customer value based outcomes in short and long term
  • Identification and qualification of transformational customer opportunities for a strategic account. Own and drive business plans with the Account Teams, Azure Specialist Teams and Cloud Architects on global scale
  • Work to land proposals that map clearly to the expected customer business case/outcomes (Datacenter, Application migrations, Modernization, Data and Integration Platforms) and drive strategic pursuits end to end to enable Azure consumption
  • Provide clarity by addressing detailed business case analysis, best practices and replicate success across the customers organization and business units
  • Provide thought leadership on setting the expectations, driving innovation and align the best capabilities of the Microsoft organization and Microsoft Partners
  • Create and collect data that constantly help us to ensure a high quality customer journey, timely investments and landing of global acceleration programs
  • Be in an active role through the customer engagements in steering groups and ensuring right level of governance
  • Conduct customer briefings, ensure timely landing of proposals (including RFx responses) and be the advocate of building right customer and partner skills to ensure customer success

Qualifications

  • Significant experience working with global customers in customer facing roles, leading or supporting transformational engagements and consumption business
  • Relevant work experience in technology companies or global IT organizations focusing on complex engagement cycles, solution based approach, business and IT alignment
  • Substantial of experience in cloud with thorough understanding of public and hybrid cloud platforms, platform capabilities, migration processes, discovery, assessment and solutioning of IT migrations
  • Experience in thinking programmatically to ensure success is being replicated by best practices, automation and advanced tooling
  • Strong technical acumen (relevant certifications preferred) to become a domain expert for the customer
  • Experience in enterprise applications, architectures and application driven migrations and modernization is preferred. Understanding of the partner and vendor landscape is a strength.
  • Experience in enterprise and large account sales, deal making, negotiations and building/managing pipelines. Experience in building strategic partnerships with customers is a plus.
  • Experience in working with global, multi-national teams and organizations with demonstrated ability to create strategic account plans and deliver results. Additional experience with Retail or FSI industries is a plus.
  • Education: MBA preferred, but also a strong technical education background in Computer Science or Engineering is a key for success. Technical certifications for Azure or other major cloud platforms are a plus and also expected for the role later on
  • Ability to lead conversations, negotiations and proposals with senior customer stakeholders including excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent English, other languages are a plus
