As the Chemical Analyst Chromatography you will be working in our Analytical Science team with of other Analysts, specialists and scientists. Within this team you will be working on Corbion’s Sustainable Food Solutions (SFS) projects. If you are passionate about food, food preservation and innovation than you could be the Chemical Analyst Chromatography that we are looking for.

In this role you will perform analysis of samples in support of Corbion’s SFS business and project analytical needs. You work with internal customers on project related analyses and provides analytical expertise. In addition you train analytical colleagues on established SOPs.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to innovation projects and/or customer support projects, active participation and execution of project elements.
  • Prepare project design, plan and execute standard research or specific analyses according to the known protocols in consultation with the Technician B or senior Technician [measure quality of preparation and execution of analyses or experiments, timely actions].
  • Ensure documentation and reporting of procedures and results according to the Corbion standards. Report methods, results and techniques used. Ensure databases are up to date.
  • Analyze, interpret and process results of analyses or experiments, monitor results during research, discuss results and conclusions with team, manager, project team [measure quality of analyses and interpretations, timely actions].
  • Actively participate in maintaining the facilities, equipment, and safety in the labs.
  • Support onboarding of colleagues and students.
  • Participates in and helps foster open and collaborative teamwork between all Corbion analytical groups
  • Supports validation and implementation of analytical methods to QC labs
  • Contributes (with other subject matter experts in technology and application teams and from external party/network) to the quality of the SFS input towards supported projects, provides technical overviews of analytical techniques employed.
  • Brings in and utilizes knowledge for projects and the overall business.
  • Collaborates with external labs.
  • May need to travel up to 5-10% of working days.

About you

  • BSc/Ms level in e.g. Analytical Chemistry, Food Science
  • 2+ years relevant experience in chemical analysis of functional food ingredients and food products.
  • Capable of running established methodology relevant to analysis of ingredient or finished product samples submitted by all Global SFS technical divisions.
  • An understanding of the principles of chemical analysis, food science, laboratory analytical techniques, and lab equipment are required.
  • Team-player: Builds on expertise of others, and is able to connect the dots to drive for optimal results for Corbion.
  • Problem solving skills, understanding of experimental design.
  • Passionate about food, food preservation and innovation.
